Grace and I love eyelash serum. It was our go-to product for longer and stronger eyelashes that we discovered a few years ago. However we have always recommended the brand, Revitalash Eye Lash Conditioner, but it seems to have bumped its prices up dramatically and now it costs £125. Even if it produced eyelashes as long as a Jersey cow’s it would not be worth laying that sort of money out.
So I have been on the hunt for a more reasonably priced but equally as effective lash serum.
BORBOLETA EYELASH SERUM – £60
This is a new eyelash serum but it is gaining a huge cult following as it seriously delivers luscious, healthy lashes. Borboleta are the queen of eyelash care and this serum used to only be available to the professionals. I love the thin brush as it means you can really apply the serum direct to the roots and the liquid does not drip into your eyes. It is top of the range, in terms of price, but if you read the rave reviews then it is worth it.
KU2 EYELASH SERUM 3.5ML – £49
This serum gets the best reviews however is still very expensive. But if you want long strong eyelashes then this is the best out there. It says you should apply morning and evening and it does not affect any of the other products or make-up that you then apply. However look at my tips for applying at the end of this post.
According to the testers it creates such strong growth it gives the look of an eyeliner.
UKLASH EYE SERUM 3ml – £34
This eyelash serum is remarkably easy to apply and this product works and works fast. Ingredients are hypoallergenic, kind to the skin and extremely gentle so there is no sign of irritation whatsoever and the brush glides on really smoothly, distributing the serum carefully and liberally. Results started to appear within 14 days with maximum results after 6 weeks of use and continued use maintains the results.
LashFOOD SERUM 3ml
A 99% natural eyelash growth serum formulated with LashFOOD’s patented Phyto-medic complex. One of the hero ingredients in the LashFOOD serum is Arginine, an amino acid that supports healthy hair growth right at the root. This lash growth serum also supports healthy lashes by deep conditioning the entire hair follicle, stopping eyelashes from prematurely falling out.
None of the testers had any reaction so this is a good one if you have sensitive eyes.
BOOTS NO. 7 LASH SERUM
This No7 Lash serum is the one that I am currently using and it is doing a good job so far. It claims to help give visibly fuller, thicker and darker lashes in eight weeks. The formulation contains ingredients such as Biotinoyl tripeptide (a short chain of three amino acids) that helps to maintain lash integrity, condition and nourish the lashes.
The packaging is a small white sheer tube and has a medium thickness applicator brush which makes it very easy to apply the liquid. The formulation is to be applied near the base of the eyelashes (on the skin) on both the upper and lower lash lines at night for at least eight weeks. The product can also be used on the eyebrows. I have sensitive eyes and have had no problem with this serum.
HOW TO APPLY:
- For absolute best results, always apply your eyelash serum to clean and dry eyelashes – preferably right before bed, when your face is free of any makeup that could prevent the serum from absorbing.
- The key to a successful lash serum is strengthening the hair at the root. While there’s no doubt that serum applied to your lash lengths will make them less brittle, the nourishing serum needs to be applied to the follicle root for lasting, dramatic results.
- Applying the lash serum more than once a day isn’t going to make your eyelashes grow faster, and you’ll end up going through your lash serum way too quickly.
