Job Title: Higher Apprentice Supply Chain

Location: Portsmouth Naval Base

What you will be doing:

During the Supply Chain apprenticeship you will learn how to procure or buy goods and services which enable projects to be delivered on time, and to cost. The Commercial Procurement roles can extend to a huge range of related commercial activity such as influencing policy, financial analysis, engaging in contract law, and developing strategy to deliver services. You will have the opportunity to enhance your knowledge by working collaboratively with suppliers and colleagues and in the use of information and resources.

You will develop the principles and purpose of commercial contracting and how contract terms, conditions affect delivery and supplier performance. You will also learn how to use a range of contract and supplier performance monitoring, management and reporting techniques to ensure that cost, service, quality and sustainability aspirations are being achieved and maintained.

Throughout your apprenticeship you'll work with a Skills Coach as well as your placement manager who will nurture you to help you find opportunities within your role to implement your new knowledge, skills and behaviours. Your Skills Coach will work directly with you and your line manager to guide every step of the way with regular quarterly meetings throughout your programme. Your apprenticeship journey will be supported by the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply.

What Qualification will you get?

Commercial Procurement and Supply Chain Apprenticeship [Level 4]

CIPS Level 4 Diploma Qualification, plus an additional module on the Level 5 Advanced Diploma Qualification.

Then there's Artisan, the 3D radar that can identify a target the size of a tennis ball, travelling at a speed of more than 2000 miles an hour more than 25 kilometres away!

Export Control / Security:

Please be aware that many roles at BAE Systems are subject to both security and export control restrictions. These restrictions mean that factors such as your nationality, any nationalities you may have previously held, and your place of birth can restrict the roles you are eligible to perform within the organisation. All applicants must as a minimum achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.

5 GCSE A*-C or 9-4 (or equivalent) Including Maths & English
