If so, then this this is an exciting opportunity for you! A post has arisen within Barnardo's Home Based Family Support Service for a Part Time (35 hour) Family Support Worker fixed term until end of December 2022. This post may be extended subject to funding.
Barnardo's Home Based Family Support Service is an innovative project aimed at offering support to families within their own homes. The service aims to support families to address emerging concerns and deliver support which enables families to remain together without the need for statutory intervention. The service a strengths-based preventative model that will help to build and develop parental capacity.
This is an opportunity to become part of a passionate and committed team. We are seeking 1 part time Family Support Worker to provide support and assistance to parents/carers and families, within their own home, in the Fermanagh area. Office base to be confirmed.
The Family Support Worker will hold a caseload and work with families to provide trauma informed interventions, specific to their identified needs. This may include working on issues such as:
- Practical tasks e.g. household management tasks
- Addressing poverty
- Addressing sleep routines and toileting habits
- Physical/Mental Health and Wellbeing
- Positive parenting using evidence based programmes
- Accessing community activities.
We work from a strengths based perspective building on families' own resources to enable them to develop the confidence and skills to move forward following our involvement, signposting to other relevant supports where appropriate.

Hours: 35 hour Part time post (Term Time)
Salary: £18,278 pro rata
