About the role
At the British Heart Foundation (BHF) the Data Applications team serves to support and administer project delivery for one of the organisations’ most valuable assets; the central supporter database. You’ll work closely with colleagues across Technology to ensure the smooth implementation of technical changes.
As our Data Engineer you’ll support in the delivery of project work assigned to the Data Applications team, undertaking the design and creation of data-led solutions; using SQL to investigate and diagnose existing issues.
You’ll be involved in investigating data issues and implementing changes to resolve these as well as support the conversion of data into CRM using SQL and build scripts, where needed, to deliver technical project elements.
We have two positions in the team available. One permanent, the other a fixed term contract for 18 months.
Please note whilst this role will be based at our head office in London. The BHF will be following a blended approach between home and office working. This will allow us to unlock our best work for our cause, blending the best of home and office working.
With previous SQL knowledge and experience, you’ll have a good understanding of CRM systems (Blackbaud Enterprise CRM, MS Dynamics, etc.) and will be IT literate and fully conversant with Microsoft packages.
You’ll have excellent problem-solving attributes and will be familiar with investigating issues and delivering solutions using SQL scripts. Acting as a subject matter expert to map data via SQL to the front end of the database, you’ll take the initiative on project elements assigned to you and deliver these to required deadlines.
To be successful in this role you also have the following skills and experience:
•Experience working in a technical support and delivery function.
•Previous experience supporting the delivery of multiple complex projects simultaneously.
•Previous experience working within a technical delivery team to support non-technical users.
•Proven experience balancing multiple priorities.
•Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills to deliver results to deadlines.
You’ll have excellent communication skills, able to develop strong working relationships with colleagues at all levels of the organisation. You’ll also have a technical and logical approach to problems, with a determination to resolve these.
