This post attracts a total of 6000 p.a. in allowances in addition to the basic salary listed.
The post holder will be responsible for the instruction, up to Foundation Degree level, (BTEC Higher National equivalent), of military and civilian air engineering students in Airborne Radio Communication systems, RADAR and Electronic Warfare and Advanced Fault-Finding Techniques. This will include both theoretical and practical instruction, supervision of laboratory work, marking and assessment. Minor maintenance of training equipment/training aids is also required as appropriate. Experience of training delivery and/or a teaching qualification (e.g Cert Ed/CFET) is desirable, although formal training in Defence Instructional Techniques (DTTT) and the opportunity to study for a civilian qualification in teaching will be made available to the successful candidate. You will also be expected to diversify into other related subject areas after suitable training, if requiredResponsibilitiesA successful candidate will be responsible for delivery of training in the required subjects to classes of up to 16 student per class. Instructional loading will absorb approximately 60% of your time. When not instructing, the post holder will be required maintain currency in subject matter, prepare teaching material, upkeep designated subject course documentation, invigilate & mark examinations and assessments, propose change requirements and set new examination questions as appropriate.
