National Account Manager
£60,000 - £70,000 plus great benefits including company car (Work Level 5)
Home-based, with some weekly travel to either our Manchester or Scunthorpe office, and you'll need flexibility to frequently travel nationally
For this role you'll be required to complete a full National security and DBS check


We're looking for a National Account Manager to join Co-op Wholesale. In this role, you'll be accountable for the day-to-day management and operations of our current largest corporate account, Compass. It's a high-profile role where you'll own trading, forecasting, and service management within the account, as well as retail development across 3 business units: defence, healthcare, and education. It's a position requiring high levels of professionalism, and if you can bring the skills and experience that we're looking for, you'll have the chance to make a big impact.


What you'll do

- Deliver the annual net sales recruitment plan for the Compass partnership
- Provide high quality support and partnership to counterparts at Compass, building meaningful relationships across a variety of role types
- Manage the specific requirements at Compass, unique to the business units identified above, making sure risk, governance and protocols are managed correctly
- Own the operational and brand standards for the account
- Provide and understand insight into project performance, driving activity and actions to increase performance
- Plan and prioritise account management activity in line with the partner engagement strategy
- Manage any partner issues, complaints, and escalations through to resolution via the Sales partner feedback loop
- Identify growth opportunities by collaborating with key partners and driving initiatives to ensure their successful implementation


This role would suit people who have
- Experience of driving sales and managing large corporate clients within convenience retail
- The ability to develop and continually improve capability in the team, striving for best in class service
- Experience of sales and strategy development
- Good knowledge of the wholesale/retail industry, product categories and market dynamics
- Confidence in communicating and presenting to partners and colleagues at all levels
- The ability to understand growth in a challenging market
