Required as soon as possible North Walney Primary School Governors wish to appoint a permanent part-time Clerk to Governors to join our hard-working team. The Clerk to Governors will be accountable to the governing body and will work effectively with our co-chairs of governors, and with the Head Teacher and other governors. The clerk will be responsible for advising the governing body on constitutional matters, duties and powers and will work within the broad current legislative framework. He/she will secure the continuity of governing body business and observe confidentiality requirements. The Clerk will manage the organisation, recording and administrative work of the Governing Body. Training will be offered, if necessary. Reports to: Chair of Governors and at North Walney Primary School Approximately 48 hours per year (evening meetings) The new post-holder must be able to work proactively and professionally under pressure to meet deadlines and operate flexibly within the changing needs of a school. The new post-holder should be able to work flexible hours as the role involves attending evening meetings during term time. (3 Full Governor Meetings and 6 committee meetings per year) North Walney Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
