We have various opportunities for Casual General Assistants to join our friendly and supportive teams across Hampshire.
No two days are the same in this varied and rewarding role, as a general guide, you would be responsible for:
• Escorting residents and assisting with meals (unit living) i.e. serving or assisting residents, clearing/resetting tables, use of dishwasher etc. and a basic food hygiene course is available.
• Carrying out general cleaning duties as set out in the cleaning frequency charts (residents’ bedrooms, communal areas, toilets, bathrooms, sluices and sundry offices), and for maintaining the required standards.
• Accompanying residents, as an escort, to appointments i.e. hospital, doctors, opticians etc.
• Undertaking specific laundry related duties as and when required including cleaning, ironing, etc as well as occasional sewing tasks with appropriate training provided.
We aim to ensure that all residents are treated as individuals and that their needs are respected and adhered to. There is always something happening at our homes; our staff actively promote activities within the home and try to ensure all types of interests are catered for. We pride ourselves in offering a quality service that promotes independence and delivers high-quality person-centred care.
You don’t need to have previous experience in this field, with the right values and motivation we can equip you with the skills and training you need to enjoy this hugely satisfying role and progress in your career. If you share our person-centred values and feel you can help to make our care home a place that our residents can really call home, we would love to hear from you!
Hampshire County Council cares for those who care, which is why we provide our team members with a positive, safe and supportive working environment. This is offered alongside a competitive benefits package.
