Job/Person Summary

We are seeking confident, self-motivated individuals who are good communicators, patient and with a friendly approach to join our team. You would be supporting children to foster effective participation in the social and academic processes of the school.

The role calls for somebody with an interest in working in an educational environment where you would be working with teachers and other support staff to contribute to the successful inclusion, progress and wellbeing of our learners.

Apprentice Teaching Assistant

We welcome applications from candidates with little experience who would be interested in following an apprenticeship route.

Contract: fixed term 17 months from start date or until such time course of study is completed

Hours: 30 hours per week / 39 weeks per year (8.30 - 3.15 pm dailywithunpaid breaks of 15 and 30 minutes) and salarywill be in line with national minimum wage dependent on age

This apprenticeship opportunity will allow you to work towards successful completion of the Teaching Assistant Level 3 whilst working in the role to gain on-the-job experience to support your apprenticeship journey. You will receive training and development from your line manager/ apprenticeship mentor as well as being assigned a tutor to guide you through your apprenticeship. As part of your apprenticeship you will have one to one assessment visits with your tutor and regular training sessions that are relevant to your apprenticeship programme (these will be delivered through online workshops and face to face sessions). As an apprentice you will be expected to commit to engaging with your assessor, actively participating in training and completing work set by your tutor by set deadlines. At the end of your apprenticeship you will complete an End Point Assessment (EPA). This will be completed by an external organisation. Your tutor and line manager/apprenticeship mentor will ensure you are prepared for your EPA with practice sessions and guidance.

If you do not currently have a GCSE in Maths and English, you will be required to complete functional skills in these subjects.

To start an apprenticeship, youll need to be: 16 or over, living in England and not in full-time education

  • Have a good level of literacy and numeracy understanding (e.g C+ at GCSE or equivalent - for apprenticeship route, see note above)
