About the Company

Watford Mencap provides a range of services to people of all ages with a learning disability and their families in SW Herts. Services include residential care homes, supported living, community services, adult learning and leisure opportunities, short breaks and children’s and young people's services. We are recruiting a second Operations Manager to support our growth and expansion, who will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of our community services.

What does this Community Operations Manager job involve?

You will be leading, developing and delivering a comprehensive range of services to meet the needs of the people we support. You will define, implement and develop a community strategy for Watford Mencap, growing services.

You will be part of the senior management team playing a significant role in the development of Watford Mencap’s strategy, line managing a team of project managers and overseeing the effective contract management and compliance on all contracts. Ensuring the service meets performance, safeguarding and quality standards and delivers outcomes for people with learning disabilities and their families.

You have a flexible, ‘can do’ approach and you actively engage and involve service users to support service delivery and improvement. You have experience of working at management level in the voluntary sector and of managing teams and leading person-centered children’s and community-based services.

You analyze complex situations and make evidence-based decisions, adapting quickly to change. You build strong relationships and are an excellent communicator. You work collaboratively and drive good customer service.
