Hertfordshire Health Improvement Service delivers and commissions stop smoking and NHS Health checks across Hertfordshire. This post is essential for engaging with clients that are referred or signposted to programmes delivered like stop smoking and health checks. The post is predominately telephone based work. The key role will involve taking ownership of referral processes from our partners and coordinating the initial contact and follow up process with service users to maintain their motivation in improving their health and wellbeing.
Not only will the successful applicant lead on client engagement work, but they will support the Hertfordshire Health Improvement team in their work with important stakeholders including Community Pharmacies, GPs and practice managers and voluntary and statutory organisations by contacting them with service delivery messages and providing support for National Campaigns such ’Stoptober and One You’ High levels of application and tenacity are required to process sizeable call lists where at times the interventions may be continuous and repetitive in nature, but where enthusiasm needs to be maintained.
The post holder is also expected to develop some clinical knowledge and skills in smoking cessation and to provide support for clients accessing the stop smoking service based on demand. All training will be provided.
Skills and Experience
The successful applicant will be educated to diploma or equivalent level, with considerable experience in customer service; tele-marketing; tele-care or customer relations and front-line delivery of customer care.
IT literate and competent with Microsoft software packages for email, presentations, internet search, documents and most importantly Excel spreadsheets and be able to sustain concentration in a busy office environment.
