We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Finance team as a Finance Process & Controls Change Manager on a 18 months fixed term contract, This role is crucial to advancing H&B's Process Excellence Maturity Journey by directly addressing process and controls improvement. The role will deliver critical process documentation, establish controls frameworks, and lead initiatives that enhance financial operations efficiency. It will solve capacity and skillset gaps within the team, mitigating the risk of stalled progress on documented initiatives. The role will ensure Subject Matter Expert Process Owners have support to focus on improvement rather than juggling with BAU tasks.

The Role:
Key Responsibilities:

Project Management & Initiative Delivery:

  • Lead and manage multiple finance change initiatives, ensuring timely progress and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues who have operational responsibilities to coordinate input and drive initiatives forward.
  • Develop and manage a prioritised backlog and roadmap of development work to ensure consistent progress and clarity on upcoming priorities.
  • Actively manage risks and issues, mitigating potential obstacles to project success.
  • Maintain a pragmatic approach to prioritisation, balancing the urgency of initiatives with available resources.

Content Development & Delivery:

  • Drive forward initiatives by developing high-quality deliverables, evaluating options, and making well-reasoned recommendations.
  • Take a hands-on approach to create content and process improvements, ensuring deliverables meet high standards and add tangible value.
  • Utilise the expertise of H&B finance team members as subject matter experts, acknowledging their limited capacity due to day-to-day responsibilities.

Finance Process & Control Leadership:

  • Provide content and thought leadership across a range of finance control areas, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Payroll, Treasury, and Financial Reporting.
  • Develop and refine controls, process documentation, and improvements across these functional areas, bringing a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Lead the implementation of process enhancements, ensuring robust controls are in place to maintain high standards of financial governance and compliance.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Establish strong working relationships with finance and non-finance stakeholders, acting as a central point of contact for finance process change and control initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with key stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, priorities, and challenges

Location:

This role is based in Nuneaton, and may be occasionally required to travel to our London Hub or to any other location of H&B. We support flexibility and productivity of our employees by hybrid working arrangements with minimum 2 days presence in the office

The Person:

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
  • Experience in finance operations, process improvement, and compliance systems like FloQast is essential.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering hands-on, pragmatic change initiatives within a finance environment.
  • Strong project management skills, with a track record of coordinating multiple initiatives and driving progress.
  • Proven ability to engage and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including those with day-to-day operational responsibilities.
  • Proven experience in finance process improvement, project management, and developing controls is essential.
  • Ability to analyse complex issues, evaluate options, and present clear recommendations.
  • Experience working on large-scale process improvements within complex finance environments is essential.
