We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Transformation Lead - FP&A to lead our FP&A and Finance Transformation plans while working in partnership with the Head of FP&A to ensure the seamless delivery of Business-As-Usual (BAU) FP&A tasks. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial planning, analysis, and system implementation, with a proven track record of driving efficiency and accuracy in financial processes, project management, and change management on a large scale. The role sits on the leadership team of Group Finance Director and plays a key leadership role.
Key Responsibilities:
FP&A Transformation System Implementation:
- Direct the end-to-end implementation of a new FP&A system, including planning, design, testing, and deployment
- Direct the system implementation team working in partnership with Head of FP&A
- Manage external system implementation partners - delivery, billing and change control
- Collaborate with IT, finance, and other relevant departments to ensure the system meets business requirements
- Ensure training and support to FP&A team members and other stakeholders on the new systems is provided
- Working closely with FP&A Lead, collaborate with H&B Senior leadership teams to assess the current planning process and associated RACI, highlighting opportunities to re-engineer in line with system implementation
- Ensuring the development and execution of a comprehensive FP&A Transformation project plan, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation
Finance Transformation (Finance 2.0) plan execution
- As the plan is well developed, the role is focussed on great execution and communication, whilst also identifying opportunities for process improvements, automation, and efficiency gains within the finance function
- Providing programme level governance across the 3 pillars of Control & Compliance, Business Partnering, People
- Manage any PM resource to ensure detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation are in place and executed against
Change management
- Develop and execute change management plans to ensure smooth adoption of new processes and systems
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels to gain buy-in and support for transformation initiatives
- Provide training and support to finance team members and other stakeholders
- Drive the adoption of new technologies and automation tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Performance Measurement and Reporting
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of transformation initiatives
- Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management and other stakeholders
- Continuously evaluate the impact of transformation efforts and adjust as needed
- Scope other transformation opportunities, such as Data & Analytics, and turning data into insight
Business-As-Usual (BAU) FP&A Tasks:
- Work hand in hand with the Head of FP&A to ensure that Transformation plans are complementary and support the delivery of BAU deliverables. This is particularly important as we will be utilising the new system outputs for the FY26 budget process, therefore Transformation and BAU will be delivered in unison. Hence being close to the deliverables will be key so we continue to service the business and transform simultaneously
- Support the FP&A team to ensure delivery of BAU as needed. This would be through being a "sounding board" and "second reviewer" of key FP&A outputs and plans, or as needed (e.g. holiday cover) stand in for Head of FP&A / general team and on any BAU outputs
- The success of the role will also be to ensure the accurate delivery of timely financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, where we monitor key financial metrics and provide actionable insights to senior management
Location:
This role is primarily based in Nuneaton, with flexibility to work from our London Hub when needed. Weekly attendance at our Nuneaton office is essential to collaborate effectively with the team, though we can offer some flexibility around this. We support hybrid working arrangements, balancing flexibility and productivity with a minimum of two days per week in the office.
Key Requirements:
- In-depth understanding of financial planning and analysis principles, including forecasting, budgeting, and performance measurement frameworks.
- Comprehensive knowledge of FP&A system implementation, including system architecture, data integration, and automation processes.
- Strong grasp of change management methodologies and their application in finance transformation projects to ensure stakeholder alignment and successful adoption.
- Demonstrated success in leading large-scale FP&A transformation projects, including the implementation of a new financial planning system.
- Significant experience in managing and improving FP&A processes in a fast-paced, complex organizational environment.
- Advanced influencing and communication skills to effectively engage and align 360-degree stakeholders across senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and external vendors.
- Proven project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and deliver complex projects with precision and efficiency.
- Track record of delivering measurable financial and operational improvements through strategic initiatives and process redesign.
