An exciting opportunity for someone with an interest in, the highways and transport sector and local government. The successful applicant will provide business support for the Midlands Highway Alliance Plus (MHA+); working with the MHA+ team to deliver the key objective of supporting 25% of England's local highway authorities to provide effective, efficient, innovative, and sustainable highways services.
About the Role
You will provide a full confidential Personal Assistant support service to the MHA+ Manager and other managers, including arranging appointments and meetings, making travel arrangements, and preparing and collating papers.
You will provide general administrative support to the team as required by the MHA+ Manager, including organising and attending a variety of meetings and events; taking accurate minutes; managing and coordinating correspondence; taking appropriate action to record, track, progress and prioritise work; receiving visitors and responding to telephone calls, emails and other enquiries to provide a high level of customer care; managing information securely; researching, collating, disseminating and filing material and assisting the departmental business support service across the wider department.
You will enjoy working with diverse customers and priorities, maintaining positive and co-operative working relationships within the team and department and with local authority customers and colleagues across the County Council, MHA+ membership and the industry.
You will have the skills to ensure activities are delivered in the most efficient and effective manner possible, making a positive difference to the efficiency of our services.
In return, you will gain an insight into the work of MHA+ and the department as well as gain experience in working collaboratively with local highway authorities, contractors, consultants and industry partners at every level and get involved in delivering interesting and innovative projects and events.
About You
To apply for this post you must have:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to be able communicate with and respond confidently to customers and colleagues at all levels whilst maintaining an objective and professional stance.
- Excellent organisational skills with accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to prioritise work within tight timescales whilst working under pressure.
- Have the ability to work as part of a team and to build strong relationships.
- Excellent IT skills.
