Job Description

At Lidl, we’re Big on putting great creative into effective media, media that gets seen and remembered, putting smiles on faces and products in trolleys. We’re looking for an enthusiastic, pro-active and agile Digital Media expert to lead digital media planning and buying at Lidl GB (including display, video, paid social, PPC).

This role has breadth from strategy to implementation; responsible for setting digital channel strategy, leading digital media projects, as well as managing and optimising digital media plans as part of the media mix.

*This is a maternity cover role for 12-14 months

What you'll do

  • Actively driving innovation with a digital first mindset, leading digital agenda at Lidl GB, working with our agencies, internal and international stakeholders to develop and deliver the digital roadmap
  • Lead our media agency to produce and deliver online media strategy, initiatives and ‘test-and-learn’ opportunities, resulting in a customer centric comms plan
  • Accountable for all online media plans and paid activity; ensuring they ladder back to the brief and set KPIs
  • Accountable for offline auditing, reporting, econometrics and performance analysis, identifying opportunities to optimise planning and buying, to drive ROI and effectiveness.
  • Managing Digital media budget, with accurate planning, interrogation and monthly reporting
  • Actively maintaining contacts and relationships with Media owners and industry stakeholders.
  • Responsible for 2 direct report, ensuring both have clear objectives, roles and PDPs.
  • Work with Social and Campaign teams to support development of social and digital content across selected campaigns
  • Collaborate and communicate with the wider marketing department to update on strategy, campaigns and initiatives
  • Responsible for digital media compliance and related legislations.

What you'll need

  • A digital first mindset, experienced in online/digital media, preferably within retail environment
  • Knowledge of Facebook Business Manager, Google Marketing Platform and third-party measurement partners
  • Passion about the ever-evolving digital landscape, new tech and emerging platforms
  • Experience managing media agencies and building relationships with media owners
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence effectively up to board level
  • Capability to balance both short- and long-term priorities, multi-tasking and handling conflicting deadlines
  • Proactive, inquisitive nature with an unwavering eye for detail
  • Experience of line management responsibilities
