Core Purpose of the Role

You’ll hold strong business to business relationships with a panel of intermediary accounts by demonstrating a detailed understanding of their current model and aspirations. In doing so you’ll support them to establish opportunities and provide excellent solutions for their client’s retirement, protection and workplace needs and engage on wider thought leadership subjects such as bridging diversity gaps in financial planning, cyber security and helping vulnerable clients.

You’ll help to craft the way that we develop our perspectives and solutions by passing back the feedback and ideas received from your intermediary relationships. This will help us to grow and send a strong message to your customer that we want to be “Beside You in Business!”

Who are we Looking For?

You’ll seek to understand each intermediary’s business model to establish ways to work together to increase their client opportunities and our market share of the advice they provide. Able to clearly communicate all of the Scottish Widows propositions and ensuring a full understanding of these with your intermediaries whilst also identifying other areas where we can support them using the wider groups resources.

You’ll lead your local franchise to increase sales by crafting and delivering against your business plan. This would include your contact strategy needed to grow new sales and retain existing assets under management

With our full support you’ll take ownership of your development goals including studying for CII/PFS Level 4. All whilst following specified risk and compliance procedures and practises ensuring that we’re always operating within our Group policies.

The Skills & Experience we're seeking

We're looking for someone who:

  • Demonstrates outstanding business development skills with Intermediaries in the Retirement & Protection Market

  • Hasexperience in collaborating successfully with all key roles in an intermediary firm to develop opportunities and increase business revenue

  • Has a strong understanding of the intermediary market, including technology and key competitors, and knows the drivers and challenges facing today’s advisers and their clients

  • Has experience in building and developing a business plan to achieve objectives and grow the Regional Business Unit’s franchise

  • Demonstrates excellent presentation and communication skills, making complex financial services discussions simple, whether face to face, video call or on the telephone
