Job Description Summary

Were looking for someone to join the team as a portfolio manager within our portfolio and finance team to support the management and oversight of Housing Growth Partnership's ("HGP") existing investment portfolio.

HGP is an equity investor that is passionate about accelerating the delivery of new homes across the UK by investing alongside SME housebuilders and developers across a range of residential tenures. It is a joint venture between Lloyds Banking Group and the UK Government, via Homes England.

HGP has invested over £175m of equity to date supporting the delivery of over 5,000 new homes across the UK. In September 2021, HGP launched a new £300m fund to further its support of SME housebuilders and developers with a goal to deliver 10,000 new homes by 2025.

HGP forms part of the LBG equity division and, as such, all HGP colleagues are provided and employed by LBG.

Job Description

The portfolio and finance team is responsible for supporting the decision making of both investment teams and the senior leadership of HGP and were looking for a portfolio manager to join us. The key responsibilities include

  • Taking an active role in the management and oversight of a portfolio of equity investments in residential development projects including responsibility for management of quarterly valuation committees to review the value and performance of HGPs investments.
  • Taking responsibility for collating and analysing HGPs portfolio MI to provide insight in support of HGPs investment activity, funding arrangements and wider strategic activities.
  • Taking responsibility for the management of HGPs internal governance procedures including coordination of various stakeholder meetings, including risk committees, board meetings and investor forums.
  • Ensuring investment and fund management processes are adhered to so that HGP fulfils its internal compliance and regulatory responsibilities as an Alternative Investment Fund manager which will require positive relationships to be built with all business partners (including Legal, Regulatory and Compliance, Group Finance etc).
  • Assisting with various ad hoc responsibilities to support the objectives of HGP as advised by the HGP senior leadership team.

This is a varied and wide ranging role that will provide you with an opportunity to get involved across many different aspects of the fund management process, enabling them to develop new skills and enhance their career.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret, prepare and present financial / portfolio data to key stakeholders
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Proven track record of building strong working relationships with a wide variety of relevant internal and external partners as well as advisers and partners in portfolio projects
  • Ability to present information and communicate effectively at all levels and across different audiences, both written and oral
