Who You Are

  • Qualified Social Worker (e.g. Degree, DipSW or equivalent)
  • Registered with HCPC and evidence of continual professional development
  • Experienced in multi-agency teamwork and leading
  • Possess sound assessment and interviewing skills
  • Experienced in working with vulnerable individuals and families
  • Proficient in IT (Microsoft Office, etc.)
  • Knowledgeable about relevant legislation
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and excellent customer service
  • Willing to work flexibly, including unsocial hours and weekends

What the job involves

  • Carrying a caseload and performing community care and safeguarding assessments
  • Ensuring compliance with legal, organizational, and multi-agency requirements
  • Providing expert opinion within the organization and to external agencies
  • Supporting individuals, families, and communities to access universal services
  • Recording and analyzing information accurately following organizational policies
  • Undertaking statutory duties related to safeguarding concerns
  • Working across organizational boundaries and contributing to multi-agency teams
  • Providing advice, support, and training to carers, prospective adopters, and colleagues
  • Maintaining and updating case notes and records; preparing statements for court
  • Offering financial advice and undertaking financial support assessments when necessary
  • Developing expertise in a specialist field and contributing to policy development
  • Supervising unqualified staff, mentors, volunteers, and newly qualified social workers
  • Supporting the delivery of health and social care functions for adults/carers
