Band 4 Clinician Assistant, Hepatitis C Community Network, North Central London.

We are looking for a dynamic, organised and pro-active person who is passionate about improving access to healthcare in disadvantaged patient groups. The successful applicant will work with the North Central London Hepatitis C outreach team who aim to eliminate hepatitis C infection from the region by 2025. You will be testing, assessing and monitoring treatment in patients from diagnosis to cure in community settings under the supervision of the clinical team. Training will be provided in clinical skills such as hepatitis C testing, phlebotomy and assessing liver fibrosis by Fibroscan. The post-holder will work closely with the nurses, doctors and peer support coordinators in the hepatitis C operational delivery network and interact daily with professionals in a range of settings including homeless services, drug and alcohol services, probation offices, GP surgeries and hospital and community pharmacy services.

Strong communication skills and the willingness to work with complex patients facing multiple personal challenges across diverse institutions and locations is essential. The role comes with access to a dedicated mobile diagnosis and assessment vehicle and a full UK driver’s license is essential. A familiarity with NHS practices and procedures is also desirable.
