An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Physiotherapist to work in the acute paediatric inpatient service and the children’s musculoskeletal (MSK) service at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. We are looking for an enthusiastic physiotherapist who is motivated to develop their paediatric knowledge and clinical skills in an integrated acute and community Children’s Physiotherapy team based at St Mary’s Hospital.
This post helps to cover a 7 day 24 hour inpatient service (including weekend work and overnight on-calls) that provides physiotherapy for a large Children’s Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Children’s Wards, Infectious diseases, Haematology, Neurology, Major Trauma, Paediatric Accident and Emergency and Short Stay Unit. Children present with a variety of conditions for which physiotherapy management is required (respiratory, neurology, neuro-developmental, orthopaedic and surgical) and established skills and knowledge in rehabilitation/ early mobilisation and respiratory intervention are desirable. The post holder will also work as part of the children’s MSK service, caring for children and young people with congenital conditions, musculoskeletal conditions with biomechanical origins and general paediatric conditions. There are close working relationships between the acute and community teams in order to provide continuity of care for children and promote clinical excellence.
The post will give you the opportunity to work in an established multi-disciplinary team, contribute to service development/quality improvement and supervise physiotherapy assistants and students.
