We welcome applicants who are intending to apply for equivalence through the CESR process in Anaesthetics to apply for the following post based across the hospitals of Oxford University Hospitals Foundation Trust.

The 36 month programme consists of a structured rotation through each of the anaesthetic modules required to provide evidence needed for a successful CESR application, including Neuroanaesthesia, Cardiothoracics, Paediatrics, Pain and Intensive Care Medicine.

At the end of the programme, those appointed should have acquired the training and evidence to submit a successful CESR application, which will include both the clinical and non-clinical components (audit, quality improvement, teaching, management) as outlined by the GMC and Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCoA).

The post is not a recognised training post but will be supported with an annual ARCP like assessment for CESR training, and with funding for courses to supplement training.

The final decision to grant the CESR equivalence will be made by the GMC, supported by the RCoA. After the programme has been completed, there will be an option to apply for Senior Fellow posts within the Trust whilst awaiting the CESR application to be processed.

This post is available to start from February 2021 for the period of up to three years. This post is only suitable for candidates who are eligible for registration with the GMC.
