Overview

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Pharmacy Manager to join the expanding Senior Pharmacy Management Team at South Tees NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will provide leadership of the Clinical Pharmacy service in order to deliver the trustwide medicines management strategy.

The trust provides a wide range of specialised services including: Neurology, Rheumatology, Pain Management, General Surgery, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Cardiology/Cardiothoracics, Women and Children, Neonatology, Acute Admissions, Oncology, Haematology, Renal, Older Persons Medicine, Diabetes, Respiratory Medicine and community services. These services are based at our two main hospital sites at The James Cook University Hospital (Middlesbrough) and the Friarage Hospital (Northallerton).

You will be responsible for developing and managing the provision of a co-ordinated and comprehensive clinical pharmacy service for the Trust to ensure the safe and effective use of medicines. This will involve supervising the duties of senior pharmacists, pre-registration pharmacists and senior technicians to ensure we are compliant with national guidance and recommendations of our auditors

You will need to have excellent clinical pharmacy, management, and communication skills. Experience within a team management role in a hospital setting at least a Band 8a level is essential (please see the Job description and/or person specification for further details). Excellent team-working skills are a priority and will contribute to the process of service development, quality improvement and innovation within the department driven by your own initiative and enthusiasm. You will also need to be able to work unsupervised to meet specific deadlines.

Applicants should be a pharmacist registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. You should have a postgraduate clinical diploma or equivalent experiential learning.
