Job Description

Please refer to the attached job description and person specification for full details of responsibilities 1. To contribute to the development and promotion of best practice in psychology across the service, taking part in regular professional supervision and appraisal and maintaining an active engagement with current developments in the field of clinical psychology and related disciplines. 2. To maintain and develop the profile of psychology within the Trust, regionally and nationally as appropriate during all professional contacts with patients, carers, colleagues and the public. 3. To contribute to the reduction of risk in areas of responsibility. 4. To maintain the highest standards of clinical record keeping including electronic data entry and recording, report writing and the responsible exercise of professional self-governance in accordance with professional codes of practice of the British Psychological Society and Trust policies and procedures. 5. To produce psychological reports and notes in a timely manner and to provide management information in line with Trust policies and procedures in a timely manner. 6. To maintain up to date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies and issues in relation to both the specific client group and mental health. 7. To work in accordance with Trust policies and procedures, The BPS Code of Conduct and DCP Professional Practice Guidelines and to be aware of changes in these. To maintain an up to date knowledge of all relevant legislation and local policies and procedures implementing this. 8. To contribute to the analysis, development, evaluation and monitoring of the Trusts and teams operational policies and services, through the deployment of professional skills in research, service evaluation and audit. 9. To advise the medical speciality services and professional management on those aspects of the Gastroenterology/Cystic Fibrosis services where psychological and/or organisational matters need addressing.
