An opportunity has arisen for a qualified nurse with an interest of working with people with dementia to join the Shropshire and Telford Dementia Service. We welcome applications from newly qualified nurses.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is passionate about working with people living with dementia, promoting the concept of living well with dementia. You will need to hold excellent communication skills, be enthusiastic and flexible in your approach, and demonstrate an understanding of the complexities involved in this specialist area.

Within the community we provide an assessment and diagnosis service to people who are experiencing memory problems or who may have a Dementia, as well as offering interventions to those diagnosed and /or their families /carers with specialised input from within the team. We provide a community service across the Shropshire and Telford area.


We have positive and supportive relationships across our service and within the team you will work alongside our specialist Old Age Consultant Psychiatrists, Consultant and Clinical Psychologists, Assistant Psychologists, Nurse Practitioners/Non Medical Prescribers, Occupational Therapists, Assistant Practitioners, Support Workers and our Business Support and Admin colleagues.

As well as working alongside colleagues within the service you will be expected to develop positive relationship across the wider health and social care community, in particular with our colleagues as part of our primary care networks, 3rd sector services such as Alzheimer’s Society, care homes and social care.
