Overview

An exciting substantive opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse (RMN) with the enhanced duty team of the Specialist Older Adults Mental Health Service based at East Brighton Community Mental Health Centre. The team work with people living with dementia who are experiencing acute difficulties requiring urgent and intensive support. Knowledge and experience of working with other mental health conditions and in the community is advantageous as there may be a requirement to support other parts of the service.

The successful applicant will carry out initial assessments of clients referred to the service. They will carry a joint caseload with other members of the enhanced duty team and the role will require liaison with the multidisciplinary team, statutory health care providers and third sector organisations .We will be looking for someone with a passion for working with older people and for developing good working relationships with carers. You would be expected have a high level of clinical knowledge and be able to work autonomously..

This will be a challenging and very busy role but one which will be very rewarding. you will receive a thorough induction to the service . You will have access to reflective practice and a robust supervision offer. We will also support you to identify opportunities for career development . The service operates every day from 9:00am to 7:00pm, so please note that there will be a requirement to work some weekends on a rota basis. Applicants need to be mobile, with the facility to move across Brighton & Hove as required.
