A 6 month post with the possibility of a further extension of 3 months has become available within the Trust Drug & Alcohol Services within the EXPO trial.

The purpose of the post is to conduct research tasks on the EXPO randomised controlled trial which examines the clinical and cost effectiveness of use of depot buprenorphine in those with opioid drug dependence.

The Research Assistant in this post will facilitate the EXPO trial. He/she will facilitate the recruitment, assessment and follow-up of feasibility study participants. This will include the collection of research data through various methods which may include assessments, interviews, etc. The RA will also maintain research site files and undertake data entry in accordance with relevant Good Clinical Practice and Information Governance guidance.

The main role of the Research Assistant will to be to participate in identifying and recruiting individuals for this research study. The post-holder will collect clinical data from patients, follow-up information from patients, practitioners’ and parent/carers’ and perform data entry and analysis. He/she wil liaise and support the clinical team in engagement and delivery of this study.

A 2:1 or higher degree in psychology or a health sciences related degree is essential and previous experience in record keeping to GCP standards is desirable.
