Job Description

We are delighted to be in the position of recruiting a Senior Systemic Family Therapist within York Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). The successful candidate will work across the 2 services within York (East and West) and within our neighbouring service in Selby. Independent travel is therefore essential for this post.

The successful candidate will be a qualified systemic family therapist at Master’s Degree level who is accredited with UKCP as a Systemic Family Psychotherapist. The successful candidate is also required to hold RMN or equivalent mental health core qualification at degree level post 1993 and professional registration with appropriate body (e.g. NMC, HCPC etc.). The successful candidate will take responsibility for the development and delivery of family therapy across the local services. This will incorporate training, coaching and systemic supervision of the wider team. Training in systemic supervision is therefore a desirable prerequisite, although we would support this as part of continuing professional development once in post. There are also strong links to local Higher Education Institutions, as we are key providers of academic and clinical experience components both in terms of teaching and supervision. The successful candidate will therefore contribute to the teaching, supervision and development of the systemic workforce in Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust.

Psychologists & Psychological Therapists provide key leadership roles within the Trust. To support this we have developed leadership profiles for each psychology professions band and the profile card associated with this post is attached on NHS Jobs. You can find more information about the NHS Leadership Academy’s Healthcare Leadership Model and the profiles at their website. We encourage you to look at these resources as they will play a part in the interview process.
