Job Description

The Royal Surrey is a busy Foundation Trust and Cancer Centre looking for a committed, enthusiastic, experienced Lead Clinical Nurse Specialist to provide treatment and support to Lung patients and develop and expand an excellent service for our patients.

The post holder will be expected to contribute to the strategic direction and delivery of a quality service to patients and lead and develop this specialist nursing service within the Trust and Cancer Centre’s in and outpatient facilities. Working as an integral part of the multidisciplinary Clinical Lung team the post holder will work with the multidisciplinary team with existing CNS to support newly diagnosed Lung Cancer patients

Applicants should be able to demonstrate a high level of up-to-date relevant clinical knowledge and experience with relevant post registration training and development in oncology care, 1st Level Nursing degree, plus MSc. Experience in management of staff , resources and service development is desirable .In addition the post-holder must have excellent communication and decision making skills, competency in advanced clinical skills such as advanced assessment and prescribing and be prepared or willing to undertake relevant training in order to perform bone marrow biopsies, be able to work as part of a team, but also work autonomously with minimum supervision.
