Job Description

The Sirona Long Covid Service is going from strength to strength. We are a multidisciplinary team set up to help patients manage the effects of Long Covid syndrome. We are in the process of expanding our team to enable us to meet the needs of this complex and growing group of patients and are looking for a range of clinicians from different professions and back grounds to enhance the MDT and give the patients access to the best care possible. The successful candidates will help assess, support and case manage patients with a wide variety of symptoms, helping them to improve their quality of life and function.

This is a huge opportunity to increase your skillset and experience of enabling the rehabilitation and management of long term conditions, while working in a Multidisciplinary team environment and supervised by the Long Covid clinical lead. The team covers the whole of BNSSG with remote and physical clinics in various locations across the area.

We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and highly motivated team player who is ready for the challenge of learning something new every day. We are committed to delivering an excellent and efficient service and believe that a supportive team environment is the best way to achieve this. We work closely with colleagues in the Specialist respiratory service and there may be opportunities to work across both services.

If you are excited by the prospect of joining our forward thinking team and being a key figure in the helping people living with long covid across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire please get in touch.

The post holder may be required to work from any bases within BNSSG. This may change during the course of their employment to meet service need, and to enhance their own development.

We would consider a job share with split hours for the right candidate(s).

The post holder(s) will-

  • Work well as part of a team. The ability to relate well to people and to show genuine warmth, kindness and understanding towards individuals who need our care and support is essential.
  • Provide a high standard of evidence based therapy and advice for patients. This will include a comprehensive assessment, clinical reasoning skills to help the patients plan their goals and management plan
  • Be familiar with motivational interviewing and shared decision making tools to help recommend the best course of intervention
  • Implement effective goal-orientated treatment and rehabilitation programmes
  • Be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work and adhere to National, Professional and Organisational standards and guidelines.

The Long Covid clinics run core hours from Monday - Friday 8-5pm excluding bank holidays. In the future there may be a requirement to extend core working hours of the service to up to 7-day working; however, a formal consultation process would be undertaken at such time this was being considered.

At times of organisational escalation you would be expected to work anywhere across the organisation.
