Macmillan Acute Oncology Nurse Specialist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to join our dynamic and growing Macmillan Acute Oncology Nursing Team. The team comprises of an Macmillan Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Macmillan Clinical Nurse Specialist & Team Leader and three Band 6 Macmillan Acute Oncology Nurse posts, one Acute Oncology Co-ordinator, one Macmillan Physiotherapist and one Macmillan Physiotherapy Assistant. The team's achievements include implementation of a 7 day service, a dedicated triage advice line and a prescription alert card.

Working as part of a team to support patients with complications of cancer treatments, and cancer related issues, promoting early recognition, management and early supportive discharge; the post holder will give advice and implement appropriate patient care.

We are seeking a skilled nurse with a strong interest in cancer and a background working within cancer, haematology, intensive care or an acute medical setting.

The right candidate will have clinical skills including IV administration, cannulation and central line care. We will provide a tailored training pathway which includes the opportunity to complete specialist modules in chemotherapy and cancer care.
