Band 7 Maternity Complaints Lead
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an exceptional individual to join our maternity governance team in the capacity of Complaints Lead. A nurse/midwife is desirable for this position but not essential.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication and organisational skills including the ability to engage with clinicians and teams from all professional groups. Our patients and their families are at the centre of what we do and it is essential that you are able to engage with women and families from all walks of life. You must have excellent report writing and a good understanding of the trust complaints processes, Datix and the ability to meet all deadlines and targets that are set
The successful applicant will work under the maternity governance team with wider engagement of the trust governance team, our Associate Director of Midwifery and Nursing, Deputy Head of Midwifery, Women Experience Lead Midwife , Matrons, Ward Managers and PALS. The applicant will coordinate all complaints as they come into the service to ensure the standard of complaints responses are robust, concerns addressed responsively and actions taken responsively. You will prepare weekly reports on complaints, including trends and embed actions that have been taken

We provide Maternity Services to approximately 6700 women a year and accommodate our women in very modern up to date facilitates. We have co-located midwifery-led unit and a stand-alone midwife-led unit at Barking.
There are superb opportunities for training and career development which includes a comprehensive orientation programme, education links with City University, University of Greenwich and London Southbank University. We have a state of the art simulation centre to support high fidelity multi-disciplinary obstetric emergency training, as well as a bespoke and comprehensive in-service education programme.
