An exciting opportunity is available at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust for highly motivated, dynamic, professional visible nurse leader to undertake the role of Matron for Emergency care.

The Urgent and Emergency Care Centre provides a 24 hour, 7 days a week, 365 days a year service all under one roof ensuring our patients receive the right care, first time in one place, that patients receive high quality care by bringing together skills of primary care with those of Accident and Emergency clinicians and ensuring our Emergency and Urgent Care services are sustainable for the future in partnership with, Rotherham Clinical Commissioning Group.

The exciting opportunity for the advertisement of a Matron for Emergency Care is to lead and manage with the support of the Senior Sister /Senior Charge Nurses to provide effective leadership, expertise, advice and support within the Urgent and Emergency Care Centre. This will ensure through your management, leadership, expertise and advice that patients receive care that is caring, safe, effective, well led, and responsive.

Strong clinical and professional leadership is essential. The post holder will provide visible leadership to deliver effective team working, good communication and excellent clinical and quality outcomes for our patients and ensure there are robust quality governance arrangements in place for the delivery of safe, effective, well led, responsive care for our patients in line with national, regional and local performance and quality indicators.

As a Senior Nurse you will work closely with the Head of Nursing and your peers (Matron Colleagues) within the Division of as well as your local CSU clinical lead and Business Manager

Essential Criteria:

Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration

First level degree

Experience as a senior nurse within an Emergency Care / Accident and Emergency Setting (Band 7 Minimum)

Experience of managing service developments.

Demonstrable experience of delivering education and training

A good working understanding of healthcare governance systems.

Experience and ability to practise as a clinical nurse.

Evidence of ongoing professional development

Evidence of leadership and change skills

Dynamic and enthusiastic about Emergency Medicine
