Job Description

We are looking for a Dietitian with Nutrition Support and Parenteral Nutrition (PN) experience to provide the dietetic input to the multidisciplinary nutritional support team. This comprises of a nutritional support dietitian, a pharmacist, nutrition nurse consultant, nutrition nurse specialist and a clinical biochemist. The team, which has a large and complex caseload, is predominantly involved with Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) but does have some input into oral and enteral tube feeding. There is also a multidisciplinary clinic for patients on home parenteral nutrition. This post will also work alongside the established surgical dietetic team and will particularly support the nutritional input to the Critical Care patients. Based within the Dietetic Department at The Royal Liverpool Hospital, the dietitian will work together with the whole team, contributing to service improvement, training, development of standards and audit.

In addition to dietetic care of in-patients and out-patients, the post holder will attend MDT meetings, conduct teaching sessions for other Health Professionals, supervise students (P1, P2 and P3 students) and contribute to the development of protocols and resources. This is an exciting time to join the Trust with the recent merger with Aintree Hospital and the move to the new Royal Liverpool University Hospital next year.
