Arnold Lodge is a 102 bedded Medium Secure hospital in Leicester for adult men and women with severe mental illness or personality disorders. Arnold Lodge offers high quality treatment including trauma informed care. The hospital has a wide range of facilities for Occupational Therapy and established opportunities for vocational programmes within the community.

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join our service. You will be working within an innovative and well respected Therapy Services Team. Occupational Therapy offers a range of recovery based interventions and rehabilitation through meaningful occupation. Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioners provide expertise in creative activities, music, therapeutic horticulture and practical skills. There is a Sports, Fitness and Well-being team and two education tutors.

The post holder will initially work in the male mental illness service but there are opportunities to rotate into other care streams in future. You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team and have a defined patient caseload, with responsibility for assessing and planning treatment. You will co-facilitate groups with staff from various disciplines as well as providing individual treatment. You will be working closely with medical, nursing, psychology and social work colleagues.

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist and welcome applications from newly qualified practitioners.

Part of your role will involve supervising OT support workers.

You will need a degree in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the Health & Care Professions Council
