Devon Partnership Trust are recruiting a Band 7 Occupational Therapy manager for our Torbay locality in the Adult Directorate. This role is new to DPT and is pivotal to our aspirations to develop a high quality OT service across the Trust. The successful candidate will join two OT colleagues already recruited into post in similar roles in Exeter and North Devon.

The post will involve managing the OT teams on our adult acute wards in Torbay.

The postholder will also provide senior clinical support to our Home Treatment services in each locality.

£40,057 - £45,839 per annum pro rata (Band 7)

About you

Your clinical work will involve working with service users with severe/complex mental health needs, using specialist, occupationally focussed evidence based assessment and skills at an extended scope of practice. You will on occasion need to work within the Home Treatment shift pattern.

Your management work will involve direct line management of the OT teams working within the acute services, supporting operational service delivery, providing supervision and mentorship. You will be a link between the OT teams and the local management teams within the Adult Directorate. In the role you will work closely with ward and team managers to ensure that the OT service is positioned at the heart of service delivery.

You will also play a central role in leading clinical and peer development opportunities within each locality. Facilitating these opportunities with your teams will be integral to developing high quality, locality based occupational opportunities for our service users. There will also be opportunities to provide support to the OT senior leadership team.

DPT is currently working to develop a leading OT service through implementing our Strategic Implementation Plan for the profession. This role is an integral part of meeting our commitment to develop and deliver an attractive career pathway for OTs within the Trust.

The location

Your base will be in Torbay, however under the current COVID-19 conditions this may be subject to alternative arrangements/change for example home working.
