Pay:

Day:£17.04 per hour

Saturday/Night:£22.05 per hour

Sunday/Bank Holiday:£27.14 per hour

We are seekingPaediatric Registered Nurseswho are motivated and enthusiastic with excellent communication and team working skills to join our bank.

The role:

The role may involve, but not be limited to you performing the following:

  • Assessing and monitoring patient conditions
  • Checking symptoms and vital signs and arranging diagnostic tests
  • Recognising, responding to, and managing emergency situations
  • Plan, deliver and evaluate standards of evidence-based nursing care
  • Preparing paediatric patients for operations and procedures
  • Administering intravenous drips or different types of medication
  • Delivering excellent post-surgical care to paediatric patients
  • Assisting in clinics, minor operations, and recovery
  • Co-ordinating with the Paediatric Lead
  • Working with patients' families and carers, to discuss the care and condition of the paediatric patient
  • Recognising deterioration in the physical or mental condition of a patient and taking appropriate action / escalation
  • Checking and using specialised equipment such as monitors and ventilators
  • Displaying excellent analytical ability and sound decision making in changing clinical situations
  • Recognising limitations and escalating concerns
  • Assisting in the development of new staff, students, and colleagues
  • Working as an effective team member and promoting team and interdisciplinary relationships

Skills and responsibilities:

In order to apply for this post, youmustbe a registered children’s nurse and have a minimum of 6 months experience in a similar role held within the last 2 years. Main duties and responsibilities are:

  • Undertake and documents a comprehensive, systematic and accurate nursing assessment of the physical social and spiritual needs of the patients where appropriate.
  • Creates and utilises opportunities to promote health and well-being of patients in their care.
  • Leads a nursing team to manage a group of patients throughout a shift.
  • Working within the NMC Guidelines and Trust Policies recognising one’s own abilities and limitations.
  • Maintain a good standard of communication with the multi-disciplinary team and respect the confidentiality of patients, relatives and colleagues.
