Job Description

The following are the core responsibilities of the Patient Advisor. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels: 1. Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system, including the e-requests for appointments via the website dashboard and online consultation.2. Signpost patients to the correct service through care navigation.3. Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments4. Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately5. Processing incoming and outgoing mail, action all incoming faxes and photocopy documentation as required6. Process calling letters as requested7. Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information8. Patient tutorials during registration process on how to use patient access, website and online consultation9. Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients healthcare records10. Process referrals to external agencies such as secondary care11. Input data into the patients healthcare records, file and store as necessary12. Action GP2GP tasks13. Process incoming e-test results, ensuring they are referred to the relevant clinician14. Read code data on EMIS Web15. Carry out summarisation of medical records16. Process medical record deductions17. Perform QOF recall process18. Perform failed text process19. Process Cervical smear results and recall invites20. Send Childhood Immunisations invites and submit completion data21. Deal with all administrative queries as necessary22. Carry out system searches as requested23. Support all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested24. Process all DNA letters in accordance with current protocol25. Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies26. Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner27. Carry out system searches as requested28. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times and monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards as required29. Support all clinical and management staff with general tasks as requested30. Be flexible in moving between tasks according to demand directed by management team
