Pharmacy Technician – Rowcroft

Permanent Contract

Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group is a dynamic organisation working in a fast-moving and ever changing environment making significant improvements in the delivery of health and health care services for our population of approximately 630,000. The county covers a large geographical area inclusive of 73 GP practices organised within 15 Primary Care Networks (PCNs) that span a mixture of rural and urban areas. Gloucestershire CCG and our PCNs are committed to developing a skilled workforce that can maximise the delivery of safe, high quality and value for money healthcare services for the benefit of our local population.

Two of our PCNs, located in two of the most beautiful parts of our county – Forest of Dean and Stroud Cotswolds – are looking to recruit Pharmacy Technicians, directly employed by GP practices in those two PCNs. This is an exciting time to join our PCNs. They have recently entered their second year as PCNs and are building their pharmacy teams as their networks mature. They have excellent clinical leadership in place and are offering this opportunity to pharmacy technicians who are eager and willing to be part of patient facing and patient supporting activities that will benefit their populations.

The PCNs are interested to hear from candidates looking for both full and part-time roles to fill these vacancies. All applicants will be required to hold current GPhC registration with Technicians qualified to NVQ Level 3, enrolled in or undertaking or qualified from an approved training pathway (e.g. the Primary Care Pharmacy Educational Pathway (PCPEP). Previous experience of working in a GP practice is desirable but not essential. Applicants will need to be computer literate, confident in working independently, able to prioritise workload and want to work in a multi-disciplinary environment. Due to the nature of this role, a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.

The closing date for applications is Wednesday 28th October and shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview on week commencing 23rd November. Interviews will be held via Microsoft Teams. If you’d like to discuss this role in any more detail, please contact Susan Hill ([email protected]) who will be able to put you in contact with the relevant GP Clinical Director for the PCN.
