This post provides the opportunity to join a very busy team working across two sites at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The team contributes to the delivery of a high quality phlebotomy service to patients from Bradford and surrounding areas. Rotational working gives variety and interest to the role, patient contact and the opportunity to learn to perform Paediatric phlebotomy.

 

Brief Description of the Role:

 

The post holder will be responsible for the taking and handling of good quality blood samples from both inpatients and outpatients following set procedures and protocols.

The post will involve rotation between all areas of phlebotomy including outpatient and ward settings.

There may be an opportunity to perform Paediatric phlebotomy

 

Summary of most important Experience/Skills/Qualifications required:

 

Work within defined limits and competence whilst using own initiative

Caring and friendly nature

Experience of dealing with members of the public

A team player but who can work with only remote supervision

Good communication, interpersonal skills and organisational skills

Professional approach with good behavioural standards

Good manual dexterity is required as well as the ability to work quickly, safely and with attention to detail

Basic IT skills and the ability to deal well with pressure

The successful applicant will be trained in phlebotomy
