Sue Ryder have an amazing opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our well established and dedicated team of Healthcare Professionals here at Stagenhoe located in the beautiful Hitchin countryside. Working 3 out of 7 days we also provide a great work balance whilst you develop your career.

Stagenhoe is a Sue Ryder specialist neurological care centre based in Hertfordshire, caring for people aged 18 and over a range of neurological conditions. At Stagenhoe, we provide the care people need to optimise their health and wellbeing, maximise their independence and support their emotional and social needs.

The role:
•This post will report directly to the Senior Nurse/Team Leader
•The post will also be responsible for providing leadership, appraisal and supervision to other team members as appropriate
•In the absence of a Senior Nurse/Team Leader, the post holder will take charge of the shift, planning and allocating responsibilities as appropriate
•The staff nurse will work collaboratively with the nursing team and the wider multi-disciplinary team in order to provide an integrated, proactive and high quality service

You will be:
•Registered Nurse, preferably with experience in neurological or specialist palliative care
•Relevant post-registration training or willing and able to gain within 1 year
•An ability to demonstrate a commitment to continued professional development
•Awareness of current legislation within independent care sector
•Completion of NMC recognised accredited mentor training and able to mentor students and less experienced staff
•We offer a huge range of support, from long-term residential care in our 45-bed centre to short-stay respite care. Short stays can be for a few days or a few weeks, depending on the needs of the individual.
