Overview

 

A vacant full time position, for a Respiratory Nurse Specialist has arisen in NELFT in the London borough of Waltham Forest. The candidate will require experience in Asthma and COPD care.

The successful candidate will be a Nurse with at least 3 years respiratory experience in any setting with a particular interest in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma, including those with complex presentations and those reaching end of life.

It is also important that the candidate can work full time, demonstrating flexibility, good communication skills, and the ability to work as a team member.

The candidate will work alongside fellow respiratory nurses, physiotherapists, health care assistant’s to ensure high standards are maintained across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Promoting effective self-management of patients and/or providing professional intervention for community management in order to present unnecessary hospital admissions, improve quality of life and to actively identify patients who would benefit from case management.
2. The post holder will make a contribution to both patient and professional education related to the management of respiratory disease in Waltham Forest.
3. The post holder will provide advice and information for the development of the respiratory service in Waltham Forest.
4. The post holder will hold a caseload and carry out home visits, early supported discharge or clinics as appropriate.

This post is based in Walthamstow and requires that you work flexibly across Waltham Forest.

 

 

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

 

Assessment/Interview info

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction.
