Job Description

Do you have experience of working with children and young people? Would you like to develop your skills by supporting the School Health Nursing service in Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team to provide the National Child Measurement Programme and vision screening in primary schools. The team also supports the School Health Nurses to deliver health promotion messages directly to children, young people and their families.

Bristol School Health Nursing service is a workforce of Specialist Community Public Health Nurses and Registered Nurses who provide expert advice, support and interventions to children, young people (5-19) and their families and help empower them to make decisions that affect their families’ future health and wellbeing. The service supports all pupils of school age and those attending primary and secondary schools within Bristol. It works in partnership with multi-disciplinary health teams within community and acute services, local authority and voluntary sector teams to deliver a clinically effective, high quality health service to the school aged population.

This role is based in South Bristol 37.5 hours per week, term time only. It is Fixed Term covering maternity leave until 22.07.2022. Working hours are during the school day and will be negotiated to meet the demands of the service.
