Job Description

Therapy Services Philosophy of Care:- To be a flexible and needs-led service where patients are provided with a wide range of opportunities and experiences to develop and maintain their skills, promoting lifelong learning and physical and mental well-being. To facilitate meaningful occupation in order to maximise the individuals quality of life and recovery whilst minimising potential risks. To enable integration into the community when appropriate and promote social inclusion. To provide an inclusive service where the individuality of each patient is respected, giving consideration to ethnic origin, age, background, religion, sexual orientation or personal beliefs. To deliver individual interventions identified and planned by the Occupational Therapist as part of the patients treatment plan. To co-facilitate Occupational Therapy led treatment groups To provide sessions for patients in ICU, Long Term Segregation and seclusion. To escort patients on community leave either individually or in groups To contribute to the daily functioning of the designated area of work, including sharps checks and room searches. To work on the wards when required for example to cover staff support or low staffing numbers.
