Job summary

An exciting opportunity for a Senior Physiotherapist to join our Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy team within the Isle of Wight Division of the newly formed Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare Foundation Trust.

This team is proactive, supportive and progressive. Always looking to how we can improve our services and develop our skills and careers. Being a part of this team you will work closely with our first contact musculoskeletal Practitioners, Advanced practice MSK Physiotherapists, MSK Specialist Podiatrists and Consultant Physio and Podiatrist as well as pain specialists.

A successful candidate will support the development and education of others. They will take the lead on projects and audits and will help to drive service improvement. They will remain proactive in their own personal development to provide best care for the people of the Isle of Wight.

Main duties of the job

Some of the key duties will be:

To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner, with support from senior clinicians.

To assist in the supervision, education and assessment of performance of physiotherapy students and junior colleagues.

To be responsible for maintaining own professional development as well as undertaking evidence based audit and projects to further own and teams clinical practice.

Effective time management and driving personal development, supporting other peers with their learning needs.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC Registration
  • Post graduate study to demonstrate appropriate continued professional development
  • Reflective Practice evidence demonstrating an awareness of learning needs and development

Desirable

  • Post graduate education relevant to core clinical MSK area mentioned in knowledge section
  • Evidence of supporting service improvement, audit or research.

Experience

Essential

  • Broad understanding of the overall core principles of physiotherapy
  • Basic core clinical experience gained through student clinical placements
  • Clinical reasoning/evidenced based practice
  • Knowledge of audit
  • Awareness of NHS Government and stakeholder requirements

Desirable

  • NHS Experience in most of the core clinical areas such as Musculoskeletal, Orthopaedics, Neurology, Respiratory and Rehabilitation.

  • Good interpersonal & communication skills
