We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Research Practitioner to help deliver a programme of work developing a psychological therapy for adults with residual bipolar symptoms.

This is a part-time (0.5 wte) position for 48 months and comes with the opportunity to undertake a post-graduate research degree (MRes/MPhil) at the University of Exeter, in addition to the role, also on a part-time basis (0.5 wte, 24-48 months). The course fees and a living-costs stipend will be paid by the University of Exeter.

We are particularly seeking to recruit someone with a clinical qualification but welcome applications from non-clinicians with appropriate knowledge, experience and qualifications.

The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the research including recruiting participants, conducting research assessments and cleaning and entering data, as well as regular liaison with the research team. The role will involve helping raise awareness of research amongst clinical colleagues and service users, and helping to embed research within clinical teams by regularly attending clinical team meetings. As part of this role, the post holder may support other clinical research projects held by the research and development team.

Research will be conducted in accordance with the Research Governance Framework, and for clinical trials in accordance with the International Conference on Harmonisation - Good Clinical Practice (ICH - GCP) guidelines and regulatory requirements to provide assurance that the rights, safety and well being of trial participants are protected.

About you

The successful applicant will be based at Wonford House Hospital, Exeter although due to Covid 19, you may be expected to work from home at times and will be provided with the equipment to do so. The post holder may also be required to visit research participants across Devon and the second study site in Avon & Somerset therefore the ability and willingness to travel is a requirement of the role.

If opting to complete a research degree alongside the post, desk space and equipment for this aspect will be provided by the University of Exeter.

The post holder will be required to provide online group chat support so a level of comfort and knowledge of technology will be required. Experience of guided self-help and or working with new parents would be beneficial but not essential.
