A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a qualified Perinatal Mental Health Nurse with a special interest and knowledge of working with women with complex needs in the perinatal period.
This post offers a very exciting opportunity to contribute to the establishment of a high quality multidisciplinary perinatal mental health service within our female prison service. The post holder will be a key part of this brand new multi-disciplinary team and will be able to demonstrate a range of skills and qualities that can help build a specialist Perinatal Mental Health team that will provide integrated, high quality care and deliver excellent outcomes for women. This service will be made up of Consultant Psychiatry, Occupational therapy, Nursing and Clinical Psychology and aims to offer mental health assessment and treatment to women during pregnancy, who give birth while in custody and those who reside with their infants on the Mother & Baby Unit at HMP Bronzefield. The service will work closely with the wider prison staff, midwifery services and voluntary organisations.

The service will operate across 4 women’s prisons, (HMP Bronzefield, HMP Send, HMP Downview and HMP East Sutton Park).
This post will primarily be based at HMP Bronzefield but travel between sites will be part of the role. The post attracts HCAS.
