Band 5 Staff nurse – Willow A/B

Willow A/B is a 29 bedded medical inpatient ward with a renal specialist interest based at the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle. Patients are admitted directly through the Renal Service, Acute Medical Admissions Unit or ITU / HDU. Approximately 75% of patients are defined as renal patients. However we hold a good share of Haematology patient outlyers that receive care from our renal consultant in joint effort with the Oncology Team. The ward staff provide outpatient facilities, both emergency treatment and as part of ongoing reviews. Ward staff also provide an outreach service to other wards when required for renal patients’ needs.

Come and join us and be proud to be part of a team that survey results for United Kingdom show that Renal Services at the Cumberland Infirmary and West Cumberland Hospital have consistently scored highly for patient experience for the last three years. The Patient Reported Experience Measures (PREM) 2016, 2017, 2018 survey results, carried out by the UK Renal Registry and Kidney Cancer UK showed that the Trust came within the top 3 out of 71 renal centres for overall patient experience. The survey asks renal patients a range of questions about their care, including access to a renal team, privacy and dignity, communications, support and decisions about care.
