An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Staff Nurse post at Wren Ward.

Wren Ward is a 16 bedded mixed unit that accepts admissions for frail adults (18 years and over) with acute functional mental illness which requires assessment and treatment.

Wren Ward provides a high standard of care and treatment in a safe and therapeutic setting for service users in the most acute and vulnerable stage of their illness. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative person to work within this unit.

The CQC have noted that we are an Outstanding Trust and the Wren team supports their carers and family to ensure a holistic multi-disciplinary approach to care planning is achieved. Previous experience of working with this client group is desirable.

You will be required to demonstrate a sound knowledge base commensurate with experience. You must be enthusiastic and have a flexible approach to work in order to meet service users’ needs. An ability to communicate effectively with a range of professionals is paramount.

The team embraces a recovery based philosophy which places the service user at the heart of the service, and promotes a way of care which is focused on the whole person in the context in which they live. You will be joining a friendly and supportive team where regular supervision and professional development is encouraged.

The organisation has a supportive and robust preceptorship scheme aimed at supporting newly-qualified nurses.
