Main duties of the job

Are you ready to make an impactful change in patient care? In our Same Day Emergency Care Unit (SDEC), you'll play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional patient experiences while meeting tight deadlines to ensure patients are swiftly assessed, diagnosed, and treated--all within the same day.

Your work will not only enhance patient satisfaction but also significantly reduce hospital admissions and minimize unnecessary stays. By doing so, you'll help lower the risk of infections and deconditioning, ensuring that our patients receive the best possible care in a streamlined manner.

A key aspect of this role is maintaining patient flow within the urgent care division, requiring close collaboration with the bed management team, the Emergency Department, and Acute Medical Unit (AMU). A solid understanding of the patient flow system will be crucial to your success.

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as an Registered Nurse in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months. Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.

The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Nurses and who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receive a full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as we have paused our OSCE programme indefinitely. Job responsibilities

The role is pressured at times, you will need to be proactive, self-directed and have self-awareness as well as working collaboratively with a wider multi disciplinary teams.

You will have clear aims for the SDEC Units ongoing development and be able to achieve goals set.

Person Specification

Degree / diploma in nursing studies(or equivalent nursing qualification and experience) -

Essential
