This Theatre Practitioner vacancy is for all UHB Trust Hospital sites, these include, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, Good Hope Hospital and Solihull Hospital.

Across our sites we can offer you a wide range of specialties which include: Thoracic, Cardiac, Livers, Neuro, Trauma & Orthopaedics, Upper and lower GI, Urology, Renal, Plastics, Burns, Hands, Maxillofacial, ENT, Obstetrics, Vascular, Paediatrics, Ophthalmic, Day case surgery, Interventional Radiology, Recovery & Emergency. These areas were featured in BBC 2’s television series, Surgeons: At the Edge of Life.

With our wide variety of theatres available across all sites, there is the future possibility to transfer between each site enabling you to experience a diverse career.

Here at UHB we pride ourselves with our diverse and dynamic theatre workforce. All new starters are supported in their work area by the theatres clinical education team as well as the theatres teams themselves. We allocate a supernumerary period followed by supervised practice to all successfully appointed staff. We will consider applications for those who do not have previous theatre experience.

All applicants must demonstrate within their application that they are self- motivated, enthusiastic, hard- working and a team spirited individual with good communication skills. This post is suited for those who wish to progress within in their career.

All applicants must participate in working a range of shifts including earlies, late’s, nights, weekends, long day’s bank holidays and on call. They must have either NMC or HCPC registration with the relevant Nursing or Operating Department Practitioner qualification.
